Interview with a Real, Live Mother

So, my mom has been in Germany for about 2.5 days. I figured she is the perfect interviewee for my blog.

Kari: Please briefly describe yourself for our audience:

Mom: Not only your mother and a wife, but also the Official Executive Director of a non-profit agency in the best city in the world (Rochester, NY)!

Kari: So, what do you think of Germany?

Mom: I think its allot like the best city in the world. Except for the language, the sauerkraut in your green salads, and the weird window at the Apoteka people need to talk through when they want drugs on Sunday.

Kari: I think you're being a little bit silly! What really do you think of Germany?

Mom: This is likely to insult many Germans, but it seems surprisingly American. After all, I mean, they have a TJ Maxx. What exactly is the difference between the US and Germany beyond the aforementioned language, Apoteka window and sauerkraut in the green salads?

Kari: So, you're really not having a hard time adjusting then?

Mom: No.

Kari: Let's talk a little bit more about me, and what you think about me.

Mom: I think you are a brilliant, beautiful, and intrepid adventurer who is very funny! Also, your brother is nice.

Kari: I know, right? Anything else you'd like to add?

Mom: I'm having fun, its a nice city to visit. The public transportation is splendid! Ohhh, so are the pretzels at the subway station!

Kari: I know, right?

Anyway, we are heading out tomorrow on the early train to Berlin. Stay tuned for more highly stimulating conversations!
